Daphne Keune
Daphne Keune (1971) took her first pianolessons at the age of 7 from Marcel Joosen and turned to Roelof van Reenen in 1984. She participated successfully in the national pianoselection of 'Foundation Young Musical Talent in the Netherlands' (SJMN) in 1986, followed by a performance at the International Symposium of the SJMN shortly after. At the age of sixteen she was admitted to the Sweelinck Conservatory of Amsterdam and was educated by Jan Wijn and Marcel Baudet. In 1994 she completed her studies at the Sweelinck Conservatory and continued her lessons with Daniëlle Dechenne for another 2 years. She’s a member of the Rondane Kwartet, a quartet which specializes in performing the works for four grand pianos of Simeon ten Holt. Over the years the pianistst of the Rondane Kwartet have been invited by Simeon ten Holt personally to perform his music on a number of occassions. Among other things they played in the Amstelkerk in Amsterdam, the Ruďnekerk in Bergen and in the FourgrandpianoPavilion of Dré Wapenaar during several theatre and music festivals in the Netherlands. Besides her activities in the Rondane Kwartet, she appears regularly as a solo pianist, as an accompanist of song recitals, and she owns her private teaching practice.
